I’m learning that slow and steady is the best way to keep consistent. Starting out I went way too fast and would have to slow down to a walk because I’d cramp up. Now I start with a slow jog and progressively work up to a faster speed depending on how I’m feeling.

I never really learned to run properly either. Luckily for me, I had a few friends in my high school gym class that didn’t like running so we walked the mile (we thought we were being rebellious). Lately, I’ve really wanted to get into it. I attempted to run a mile a few weeks ago. It was more of a run/walk but I managed to run about a 1.5 miles. I was dying afterward though. I definitely need to learn how to pace myself!
