Did you feel comfortable checking them or were they in another personal item bag? And did everything ( 18 coats/vests/sweaters?) also fit in all carry on too? Did you bring more because you were getting a car? I’ve been traveling carry on only for the last few years and love not worrying as much about losing things but it does take more work to try to fit everything I’d need into it:)

In the last few years we have learned to travel with only a carry on for our vacations including Europe. I still manage to pack dresses, skirts and at least 2 pairs of shoes. No more lines at the baggage claim and cheaper as well.
