Just came across your blog today. Thank you for sharing your life, you have a lot of beauty in it. A simple thing I have found that helps me when there are too many gray or rainy days is using Reveal light bulbs or full-spectrum light bulbs. They can really make a difference for me. Definitely can’t argue with a bit of travel though!

I also suffer from seasonal depression and I’ve been dealing with anxiety so I understand how hard it is. Sending you lots of love and positivity for this year. And so exciting about your move! I’ve lived in Jersey City and commuted to NYC for school and now work my whole life. It’s actually so great and honestly faster into the city than the other boroughs. Best of luck to you!

Personally I would stay near the exchange place, grove street, or Newport PATH stations. They are truly the nicer areas to live in as well.
I’m originally from Macungie PA (Emmaus HS) and couldn’t handle not having parking or grass near by. Bayonne is much more suburban of a city compared to JC.

I’m so excited for you Katie! I’ve followed your blog/YouTube for years- I’m pretty sure before you even graduated college. I can’t wait to see your new place and of course your new travels in 2019!

Thanks for sharing!]]> I have seasonal depression as well. I find taking walks and getting fresh air to be the most helpful. I am in the Midwest and we have awfully long winters as you do in New York. Taking time off work and traveling aren’t always an option, but a long walk can always make me feel a little better ☺️ I definitely agree traveling is the best cure though. Thanks for sharing!

I related to almost every word of this. From your old negative thoughts on marriage, to debating leaving the city I live in, to wanting to spend all of my expendable income on travel, to wanting to make my health more of a priority. Wishing you a wonderful 2019, Katie!

As a fellow New Yorker, I totally get the seasonal depression thing. It’s so hard not having an outdoor space, I’m constantly feeling cooped up in my apartment! But like you, I’ve found I need to force myself out even if it’s just to go to the gym, explore a new cafe, or grab a drink with a friend.

On the move, my boyfriend moved to Hoboken a few months ago and I absolutely love visiting him! It’s such a great area and the waterfront with the city skyline is to die for! So excited for your move and I can’t wait to keep following along on the journey!

I’ve looked at other neighborhoods in and around NYC and am really happy with my decision, especially for how far your money goes. I live in Paulus Hook, it has a great neighborhood feel and you’re right near the river (amazing skyline for pictures!). Best of luck!

So exciting that you’re moving to NJ! I’ve been in Hoboken for the past five years and I LOVE it. And I totally still feel like I’m in NYC and am a New Yorker since it’s so close. You’ll love it! If you have ANY questions at all, feel free to ask. 🙂
