The Hamman bath is not a massage! It is a cleaning, a cleansing ritual. You go into a sauna or steam room where you have black soap (savon noir) rubbed into your body. Then you’re scrubbed with the kessa mitt to remove dead skin. Oftentimes they will also wash and condition your hair. You can have a massage after but this is not a “Moroccan style massage.” Take it as someone washing you real well.
