I try to focus on making sure I can attend the wedding, and I’ll get to the other wedding related events if I can. Alternatively, if I know I can’t make the wedding, I will make an effort to get to the bridal shower. I think most people have a general understanding that not everyone will be able to attend everything, whether its for budget reasons, or having to take time off. Occasionally you do get that bridezilla who expects everyone to attend everything, and thinks nothing of the cost.

Also, just as an FYI in case you aren’t aware, if you are asked to help plan a bridal shower or bachelorette party, a lot of times you are also on the hook for part of the cost, that also goes for just attending the bachelorette party. Good to remember when you are on a budget and can only allocate so much to that wedding and related events and gifts.
