It’s no secret that I have an obsession with casual fleece outerwear. Throughout the fall from my trip to New Hampshire to here in New York, you guys have seen me repeat the same Patagonia and The North Face zip-ups, pullovers and vests. These everyday layering pieces have become some of my most-reached for things things in my closet for good reason.

Why The North Face and Patagonia? Well to start, both brands have a proven track record for quality (aka they make products that will last for years.) I also find the pricing to be quite fair. Many of my jackets and vests were purchased for under $100.

My collection started with just one Patagonia fleece vest and a zip-up jacket from The North Face (that I literally had from college), but now has expanded to include quite a few more things like the Patagonia ‘Better Sweater’ pullover and The North Face ‘Campshire’ vest. One aspect I love about these pieces that they are never going to go out of style. The simple classic designs always come in multiple colors and are easy to mix and match.

Here are two jackets that I’d absolutely recommend! So comfortable and perfect whether you’re traveling, hanging out at home or running errands. I typically order an XS, but if you plan on wearing bulky sweaters underneath or like a roomier fit definitely size up.

Surprise surprise! I also think that The North Face and Patagonia make great holiday gifts. At both brands you can find men’s, women’s and kid’s clothing so you’re bound the find something for everyone on your list. The winter months are also just beginning at the holidays so a new vest or jacket is the perfect practical present and actually something the recipient could end up wearing for years. I mean, I would be more than happy finding this hoodie or fluffy zip-up under the tree 🙂

Below are just a few styles available now and in stock for holiday shopping season! Obviously there are countless outerwear brands and both Patagonia and The North Face sell way more than just vests and jackets, but clearly I’m a little bias. You’ll see there are lots of styles under $100 (good new for the wallet) and Patagonia has some super cool retro designs. I think I’ve officially figured out what’s next on my wishlist…
