Confession: I’ve become an activewear addict. How did it happen? Well, I finally started exercising on a regular basis. I’ve been hitting the gym, running and taking pilates classes 4-5 days per week since April and through this I realized all the old shapeless t-shirts and ill-fitting shorts I’d held on to from college weren’t conducive to my workouts.
After scoring some great fitness gear during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, my collection of leggings and lightweight tanks has steadily been growing. Today I’m pumped to share with you guys two new activewear outfits that have been added to my weekly rotation.
A good pair of leggings can be life-changing and completely transform how you feel working out. Trust me! I never realized it until I finally invested in a few new pairs from Zella. Guys, these leggings are the bomb and will have you feeling like a million bucks! The high-waist cut keeps everything sucked in and the fit is super slimming. I even like wearing them around the city on casual days when I’m just running errands!
I can never say no to pink so it was love at first sight when I saw these ombre midi leggings. Pretty right?! I love how they look paired with this sports bra.
While I bought this outfit for working out, I’m not opposed to rocking athleisure even when I’m not exercising. The trend is so big right now! I feel like so many people have incorporated leggings and classic Adidas sneakers into their everyday wardrobe. You can count me among them!

Another reason I’m only just getting into activewear now is because my first three years in New York any extra budget I had for clothing went towards building my work wardrobe– dresses, heels, tote bags, pretty much anything I could wear to my PR job. I didn’t make time for exercise so replacing all my activewear was never a priority. Now that that portion of my closet is in a good place, I’m glad to finally be focusing on more casual gear and not breaking the bank while doing it. Woohoo!
