If you follow me on Instagram, you know that Nick and I spent the last few days getting in a little rest and relaxation in Mexico. I had been looking forward to this trip for weeks and it felt so good exchanging the never-ending clouds and cold of New York for sun and sand. We had an amazing stay at the Grand Velas Riviera Maya (review coming next week!) and while it was sad having to leave, the bright side is I now can sit down and go through all the photos we took on our trip.
One Piece Swimsuit (comes in a pretty turquoise too!) | Denim Shorts (under $50!) | Pink Twist Headwrap
I’ve been posting on Instagram and LikeToKnow. It sneak peeks at all the looks I wore on vacation and it seems like you guys are by far most interested in details on my swimwear. I’m normally not big on shopping for swimsuits (many of the ones I have are years old) but for this trip I actually had a lot of styling some new pieces. I got some many questions about this one piece swimsuit and can’t recommend it enough. It’s the prettiest shade of coral and hugs the body perfectly without showing too much skin. I’m wearing size small for reference!
Yellow Crochet Bikini Top | Yellow Crochet Bikini Bottom | Panama Hat | Aviators | Kate Spade Watch | Pink Twist Headwrap
Okay now let me introduce you to my FAVORITE swimsuit of the trip: this yellow crochet bikini. Normally I like to stick to strapless bikinis and bandeaus (not about tan lines) but the warm golden color and strappy back of this one was just too good to pass up. It was a little pricier than what I would’ve preferred to spend on a swimsuit, but once I tried it on and noticed the high quality fabric and flattering fit I was able to justify the price. People always say that yellow doesn’t look good on blondes, but I highly disagree! I love how it looks on tan skin too (PS this is the self tanner I use.)
Stripe Bikini Top | Denim Shorts (under $50!) | Tassel Tote Bag | Marc Fisher Sandals c/o | Panama Hat | Kate Spade Watch | Aviators | David Yurman Bracelets
How fun is this bikini? I love the wide rainbow stripes and little knotted tie! This one was much more wallet-friendly— snagged it for under $50!
Reversible Bikini Top | Reversible Bikini Bottoms | Tassel Tote Bag | Similar Sunglasses | Kate Spade Watch | David Yurman Bracelets
So check this out. This bikini is reversible so yep, two suits in one! I totally forgot to take a picture of it the other way, but if you look closely you’ll see it’s a sweet black gingham pattern. I love this one because 1) it’s a strapless bandeau top so no tan lines and 2) you get the best of both worlds with the bright purple floral print and then the simple gingham on the flip side.
Pom Pom Coverup | Scallop Bikini Top | Panama Hat | Aviators
Coverups are one of those items where you can totally get away with being extra and clearly I’m all about it! This one-size-fits-all caftan has such a fun pom pom trim and is priced under $70. If you’re normally not into color or crazy embellishments, this is a fun way to add a little happiness to your summer wardrobe without having to take things too seriously.
Vineyard Vines Bikini Top c/o | Vineyard Vines Bikini Bottom c/o | Vineyard Vines Tassel Shorts c/o | Tassel Tote Bag | Panama Hat | Kate Spade Watch | Aviators
I guess you could say I have a thing for tassels! This Vineyard Vines bikini and shorts were a perfect match with my tassel-adorned beach tote. I like this bikini because it gives a little more coverage than most strapless bandeau tops. It also has removable shoulder ties if you prefer to wear your top with straps.
Can’t wait to share the rest of our photos from Mexico! Stay tuned for a recap and lots more vacation looks in the coming weeks! xo

More stunning pictures! Each suit is flattering and ones I would consider wearing (in my 50s)…
My question is how safe did you feel in Mexico? Keep seeing creepy stories. Felt a little uneasy in the city of Cancun 10 years ago, but fine at the JW Marriott.
Post some pearls for our late first lady (and incredible mom) Barbara Bush today! I’m wearing mine with jeans!!!
Have a wonderful Spring weekend!

We felt 100% safe bc the Grand Velas is SO secluded and private. It’s gated too! I can’t speak to other hotels or public places because we never left the resort– it was so beautiful and there was so many food options we didn’t feel a need to go anywhere else. xo
