Ever wondered how to style a plaid blanket wrap? There’s really not much to it. In my opinion it’s probably the easiest fall accessory to wear and instantly adds some seasonal color to any outfit. Though I’ll admit, growing up I always viewed wraps and capes as a dated accessory reserved for moms and grandmas– LOL!
I only considered wearing them myself once I moved to New York and began working in a corporate office. Bulky cardigans and sweatshirts don’t necessarily fall into the business casual category so layering with a chic wrap was the perfect solution to keeping warm in a chilly office.

I may look like I put in some effort here, but honestly all I did was throw on this cape over jeans and a t-shirt. Easy peasy! The icing on the cake? The one I’m wearing here was under $50! Talk about the perfect cozy budget buy.
If a traditional red, green and yellow plaid isn’t your thing, then I absolutely recommend this $39 black and white style instead. It’s the first plaid wrap I bought (I think 3 years ago?) and every fall it always gets restocked. But just in case here are a few more options for your browsing pleasure 🙂

No matter what route you go, it’s almost impossible to get it wrong when wearing a wrap. Outfits like this one have become one of my favorite fall uniforms for apple picking, weekend trips or even just running errands around the city. Speaking of all the #fallthings, have you checked out my Pinterest recently? I made an Autumn Inspo board where I’ve been pinning everything from travel ideas to recipes and more 🙂

I’m twice your age and never thought of this! Especially in the office. I’m sitting in an old fleece (with our business logo) I don when the AC takes over. Space heaters put me in a coma.
I may even order a few wraps in with a plaid that goes with a logo in the corner!
You need to do a post on banning leggings in the office (or how to cover to your lower thighs). I went to a business last week where a lady’s leggings were way sheer. Like pantyhose! She should not have been wearing them, but that sight was way worse.

Oh yes a wrap is such a good solution for staying warm in a cold office! Plus it’s nice because you can take it on and off without messing up your hair 😛 The trick with leggings is making sure they are opaque by testing with a flash camera and in natural bright light. Eeek!

I have that same black and white BP poncho and I love the style but it sheds everywhere! How did you get it to stop shedding?
Katie says
Really? I haven’t noticed that at all. Maybe they are making it with a different fabric now? Sorry that stinks 🙁
