Oh London! Three days was not enough time to enjoy you.
I really didn’t know what to expect before we arrived. Really all I knew was that it was a large city like New York, except with a royal family and a much older history. I was pleasantly surprised to find that while yes London is big, it had such a refreshing neighborhood-y vibe and everything from the architecture, to the cars, to the way people dressed just felt so much more sophisticated.
Apparently athleisure isn’t a thing in the UK so I’m not sure my jogger pants and sneaker-loving self could make it in London longterm, but I sure had a lot of fun taking my date night attire up a notch while we were in town. The one “fancy” dinner we had planned on our trip took place our second night (can’t wait to tell you all about it in my upcoming London guide!) and I packed just the right dress for the occasion.
You’ve all seen this one before. My favoriteeee budget-friendly lace midi dress. It’s so good that I actually have it in a few colors! I first snagged it last November from Nordstrom in the prettiest shade of burgundy (that was just restocked!) and loved it so much that I had to get it in black and lavender too. Right now it’s available in eleven colors. Yes, ELEVEN colors. That’s by far the most shades I’ve ever seen stocked at Nordstrom. They must be anticipating the holiday party shopping rush because it truly is the most-flattering cocktail dress and the styling options are endless. It boggles my mind that it’s priced so affordably!
Lace Midi Dress (available in 11 colors & under $100!) | Black Pumps | Saint Laurent LouLou Bag | Leopard Print Crossbody Bag | Leopard Hair Bow | Michele Watch | David Yurman Bracelets | Crossover Pave Ring
You can see some of the previous ways I’ve worn it below. It’s so pretty on it’s own, but also still looks fab when styled with a blazer or leather jacket. Just make sure you SIZE UP! This dress runs small. Normally I’m an XS in most brands, but with this one I couldn’t be happier that I went with the S. PS I’m 5’5″ for height reference.
If you’re looking for some more options right now Nordstrom has an AMAZING selection of affordably-priced cocktail dresses. It could be smart to get a head start on snagging a dress or two before November when everyone transitions to holiday party mode… Just for fun I included a couple that are on my wishlist below 😛
Big thank you to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post!

OMG, that red wine one looks amazing! I’ve also been in London only for three days and it was too short for me. 🙂
Have a beautiful day!

I love that dress in black on you! I have it in white. I am also really loving your little leopard hair tie. I can not get enough leopard right now.

You look like a super model in all of these dresses, but somehow still my favourite is the black one. 🙂
