Escaping to Miami over the weekend completely renewed my love for summer. Sure it was HOT, but I feel like being near a beach and getting that ocean breeze always counters the downsides of super hot temps. Manhattan on the other hand is miserable in the summer. Ever since I got back from visiting my parents in North Carolina I’ve pretty much been ready for fall and just trying my best to avoid the hot, humid stale air and nightmare that is the NYC public transportation system.
I don’t have many opportunities to wear my favorite Lilly Pulitzer pieces in the city, so anytime we leave town or go on vacation I always like to pack a few bright colorful things. On this trip I brought two new dresses I’ve been dying to wear: a floral print cold-shoulder maxi dress and a classic little white shift. Both are clearly very different styles, but I’d consider both Lilly essentials if you’re into collecting dresses like me 🙂
Lightweight chiffon, cold shoulder sleeves and pretty pink and green tropical print? Now that’s a winning combination!
Lilly Pulitzer is one of my go-to brands anytime I’m looking for a white dress. There’s always an amazing selection of styles ranging from everyday casual knits to formal frocks you’d wear on a special occasion like graduation or to a luncheon. The shift I’m wearing here clearly leans formal thanks to the intricate gold embroidery around the bodice and lace-up neckline. So gorgeous right??
Maybe I’m not ready to say goodbye to summer just yet??? It’s always a treat anytime I get to wear Lilly and Miami could not have been a more perfect place to debut these two dresses. We stayed at the Four Seasons Surfside and just WOW, what a beautiful hotel. I’m planning on doing a full review and posting a recap of our weekend trip so keep a lookout for that coming in the next week or so! xo
