I don’t know where y’all live, but the weather in New York this week was brutal. I’m talking painfullyyyyyy cold. By the time Friday rolled around my skin was all kinds of dry, parched and crusty.
While I do love a good trip to the spa, the last thing I wanted to do this weekend was head out for any type of cosmetic appointment. So what’s a girl to do? Indulge in a little pampering at home, of course! You guys know I love taking care of my skin, but this weekend I really kicked it up a notch with the help of some goodies I found in the Valentine’s Day beauty gift section at Walmart.
5 Easy & Affordable Ways To Pamper Yourself At Home
GIVE YOURSELF A FACIAL. Skip the expensive spa and give yourself a steam facial at home! And nope, I’m not talking about one of those “facials” where you hold a soggy warm washcloth over your face. Get ready to say hello to your new favorite budget beauty tool: the Conair Facial Sauna System. I had so much fun testing this!
All you have to do is fill the vessel with water and within two minutes you’ll have yourself a high-quality steam facial that gently unclogs pores and leaves skin feeling hydrated and soft! There’s even a handy timer so you can customize the length of your facial and an electric brush with two different attachments that you can use for applying your exfoliator and moisturizer. Want to know the price for all of this? Just $24. Yep, it’s true!
TRY ALL THE SHEET MASKS. So I’ve been a BIG mask kick lately, even more so than usual. I think it’s this winter weather. My normal skincare routine just hasn’t been cutting it and my face is just crazyyyy dry and flaky. One of my favorite easy ways to give my skin a little extra love is with a sheet mask.
I purchased this pack of 11 sheet masks for just $17 and have been having a blast testing each one. I also love that once you’ve used a sheet mask you can just toss it in the trash and not have to deal with wiping any residue or goop off your face.
PAMPER YOUR LIPS. I dunno about you guys, but I always forget about my lips. Lately I feel like every time I put on my lip balm it’s to no avail. My lips are still crusty and cracked despite the fact I feel like I’m moisturizing them 500+ times a day.
Needless to say my pout could use some extra TLC, which is why I came up with a quick and easy winter lipcare routine. Twice a week after steaming my face I exfoliate my lips with this Burt’s Bees conditioning lip scrub. I just apply it with my fingers and gently scrub away any flaky pieces. I’ve tried a bunch of lip scrubs over the years, but I LOVE this one because it’s 100% natural and the crystals aren’t too chunky. After exfoliating I’ll smother my lips with this Aquaphor lip treatment.
On days when I reallyyyyy wanna take my lip routine up a notch, I’ll use a lip mask. YES lip masks exist! Who knew, right? I was skeptical when I first saw these collagen infused lip masks, but curiosity got the best of me so I went ahead and ordered a pack of two. Y’all these are so cool! It’s basically like a sheet mask for the lips. All you have to do is place it over your mouth, let it soak for 10-15 minutes and peel it away for a smooth moisturized pout!
BATH BOMBS. I forgot how fun these are! Also is there anything better on a chilly night than a long warm soak in the tub? When I’ve had a really long day I love to unwind by taking a bath. These pink bath fizzies smell AMAZING and are enriched with vitamin E to moisturize the skin. You can get a bag of 8 for just $7!
DRUGSTORE SKINCARE ADD-ONS. You guys know that I’m a big fan of Olay moisturizers (I’m obsessed with this one!) but recently I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone and have been using this hydrating mist and clay mask stick.
Let’s talk about the mist first. This is a life saver for parched skin, especially on days when I’m wearing makeup! A spritz of this mist instantly wakes up the face (thanks to vitamin C & bergamot!) leaving skin looking bright and makeup looking refreshed. It’s a really nice pick-me-up to keep in your purse or carry-on bag too!
If sheet masks aren’t your thing, then you’re going to love this Olay clay stick mask. It’s super easy to apply and you don’t even need to use your fingers! I bought the Fresh Reset mask, which is formulated with pink mineral complex & Kaolin clay to micro-polish away clogging surface cells and fresh dull skin. PS there’s a charcoal version of this mask too!
The last product I want to call out to you guys is this CeraVe eye repair cream. I grew up using CeraVe moisturizers and body lotions, but this is the first time I’ve ever tried anything exclusively for the eye area. Lemme tell you: I LOVE this stuff! This cream is super hydrating and works to diminish dark circles and puffiness. The best part is it’s just $10!
Well that was fun! I haven’t indulged in a pamper sesh like this in a longgggg time, but now I’m thinking I might have to make it a regular weekend ritual. 😛
Big thank you to Walmart for sponsoring this post!

How exciting! Katie, you made this pampering sound so refreshing, plus making me so jealous. I am going to do one pampering session for my lips especially, beginning with the lip scrub and trying the collagen kiss.
