Over the last year I’ve completely rediscovered my love for Free People. Yes, REdiscovered. Believe it or not Free People was all I wore during my high school years. I was obsessed. So what happened? Well like most teenagers my style evolved as I entered college. I embraced all things colorful and preppy (going to school in the South will do that to ya) and pretty much didn’t look back until a year or so ago.

So fast forward to today, you can see I’ve clearly been enjoying incorporating more bohemian and casual pieces into my closet. It’s funny because I’ve always described myself as a dress girl, but my posts from the last six months definitely say otherwise.
Okay so let’s talk prices! When I’m buying a new top or sweater I personally never try and spend more than $50-$75. Jeans, bags, outerwear and shoes are a different story because those are things I frequently repeat and where it makes sense to pay a little more for quality. Tops? I’m totally fine with ballin’ on a budget.
Full price Free People styles often are $100+ but the good news is it’s one of those brands where there are always markdowns. For example: this thermal tunic originally priced at $68 can now be yours for just $40. Now is a really great time to snag a few basics since retailers are trying to make room for spring collections.

I’m kinda obsessed with the fact that this tunic has thumb holes– is that what you call them? I definitely wore some of variation of this outfit a decade ago (I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since I was 17…) The only thing that was probably different? A MUCH larger, less-chic backpack. Yes, I was that girl who trekked around high school with an overflowing bag of textbooks.
